WE APPLY OUR SPECIAL BAKED EPOXY POWDER ON PRODUCTS MANUFACTURED BY RECOGNIZED MANUFACTURERS IN OUR INDUSTRY. WE HAVE DEVELOPED BUSINESS RELATIONSHIPS WITH THEM IN ORDER TO PROVIDE YOU WITH QUALITY PRODUCTS ON A TIMELY BASIS.

We mainly treat zinc-coated steel and cast iron, which are the main materials used in the electrical industry. We can also work with aluminium, stainless steel and bare metal components. All our products meet CSA, UL and any other standards as required by the electrical code.

OUR MANUFACTURING PROCESS CONSISTS OF FIVE STEPS. EACH OF THEM GUARANTEES THAT WE WILL SHIP YOU A SUPERIOR QUALITY PRODUCT.

RAW MATERIAL RECEIVING:

Our quality control program starts the minute raw materials arrive at our door. We make sure that materials meet your specific needs and the required standards as applicable (CSA, UL, ANSI or others).

SURFACE PREPARATION:

We chemically and mechanically treat all our pieces to prepare them for receiving the epoxy powder. Each step of our process is important but preparation of the surface is the key to providing the required coating adhesion. In this phase, we remove all impurities from the surface (dust, grease, rust,…).

POWDER APPLICATION:

Through the years we have developed manufacturing and quality control methods providing long term corrosion protection for your complete raceway system. We mechanically and chemically treat all our surfaces before the application of the epoxy powder. With the help of our suppliers, we developed an epoxy powder that meets the specific requirements of the electrical industry: corrosion resistance, adhesion and flexibility. The combination of these three factors provides a corrosion resistant installation for many years to come.

The powder is electro-statically applied. All our operators are fully trained to calibrate the equipment to obtain the required thickness on the treated material.

POWDER BAKING:

All products are baked after the application of the powder. The baking process creates the mechanical bond between the powder and the surface. It also creates a chemical bond between the resin of the powder as to obtain the required adhesion, flexibility and corrosion resistance.

RESULTS:

  • Excellent corrosion resistance
  • Superior adhesion
  • Greater flexibility

PACKAGING AND SHIPPING:

We package our pieces in accordance with stringent procedures so they are received in perfect condition. We protect our finished products from damage with cushioned packaging materials.

INSTALLATION

GREEN-GUARD REDUCES LABOR COSTS AND CAN EVEN BE CUT WITH A HACKSAW USING STANDARD PROCEDURES.

GREEN-GUARD CAN BE BENT WITH STANDARD BENDERS AND SHOES.  GREEN-GUARD WILL NOT FLAKE EVEN WHEN TEMPERATURES ARE AS LOW AS –20°C (-4°F).

WITH GREEN-GUARD, THREADING FOLLOWS STANDARD PROCEDURES. AS A RESULT, NO SPECIAL CONDUIT END PREPARATION IS REQUIRED TO PERMIT THE ENGAGEMENT OF THREADING DIES, THUS SAVING LABOR INSTALLATION COSTS.

SEAL ALL JOINTS WITH GREEN-GUARD TOUCH-UP COMPOUND TO STOP THE PENETRATION OF CORROSION INSIDE YOUR SYSTEM.

  • Cover forks of lift truck with cushioning materials.
  • Use non metallic slings for hoisting conduit bundles.
  • Avoid rubbing or sliding any material against Green-Guard surfaces.
  • Ensure pallets, skids and racking are free from rough surfaces and covered with cushioning materials.
  • After bundles or cartons are opened, ensure the remaining items are separated by the cushioning material.

REPAIRING:

  • Rub surface using fine sand paper.
  • Clean surface using Green-Guard cleaner # CLG-500.
  • Apply primer reactive vinyl paint Green-Guard # 2444-10.  Let dry for 30 minutes.
  • Apply primer paint Green-Guard # 2570-10.  Let dry for 60 minutes.
  • Apply Green-Guard touch-up compound # TUG-20.

PLEASE NOTE REPAIRS HAVE TO BE DONE AT TEMPERATURES ABOVE 13°C (58°F).

IF GREEN-GUARD CONDUIT IS TO BE HELD IN A VISE OR JAWS WHILE CUTTING OR THREADING, WE RECOMMEND THE USE OF A NON METALLIC INSERT OR SPACER TO AVOID DAMAGING THE PIPE UNNECESSARILY.
